What You Need
- A Telegram account
- An agent created on MySonny
Step 1: Create a Telegram Bot
- Open Telegram and search for @BotFather
- Send
/newbot - Choose a name for your bot (e.g., "My Company AI")
- Choose a username (must end in
bot, e.g.,mycompany_ai_bot) - BotFather will give you a bot token — copy it
The token looks like: 123456789:ABCdefGHIjklMNOpqrsTUVwxyz
Step 2: Get Your Telegram User ID
- Search for @userinfobot on Telegram
- Send it any message
- It will reply with your user ID — a number like
8591766616
This pre-approves your account to chat with your bot without additional pairing.
Step 3: Configure in MySonny
- Go to your agent's page in the dashboard
- Click the Channels tab
- Paste your bot token in the "Bot Token" field
- Paste your user ID in the "Your Telegram User ID" field
- Check "Enable Telegram channel"
- Click Save & Restart Agent
Step 4: Start Chatting
- Open Telegram
- Search for your bot username (the one you chose in Step 1)
- Press Start
- Send a message — your agent will respond!
Tips
- First message: Tell your agent about yourself and your business. It will remember.
- Be specific: Instead of "help me with marketing," try "write a social media post about our new product launch"
- It works 24/7: Send it a task at night, it'll finish and reply when done
- Files: Your agent can send you files, spreadsheets, and reports
Troubleshooting
- Make sure the agent status is "Running" in your dashboard
- Check that the bot token is correct (no extra spaces)
- Make sure your Telegram user ID matches what you entered
- Double-check your Telegram user ID with @userinfobot
- The user ID must be a number, not your username
